Nunn Took Credit Card Industry Money. Then Voted to Keep Your Fees High.
Nunn has taken more than $260,000 from the credit card industry. In April 2024 he voted in committee to repeal a rule capping credit card late fees at $8. A year later he voted to kill a rule capping overdraft fees at $5 — the typical fee is about $35 — and it became law, permanently barring regulators from trying again. This January he told Fox Business that big banks need to be accountable.

Running for Congress in August 2022, Nunn came out against the Inflation Reduction Act — the law that capped insulin at $35 a month for people on Medicare. Three years later he voted for the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which made the 2017 tax cuts permanent but left out the health care tax credits that kept marketplace premiums down. Those credits expired that December. Iowa premiums then rose an average of 15.3%. Over the same period he took $31,123 from the pharmaceutical and health products industry and $16,500 from health insurance company PACs.
Gas Hit $4.50. Nunn Called Iowans’ Costs “Overhyped.”
With Iowa gas prices hitting more than $4.50 a gallon and grocery bills climbing, Nunn told Politico in May 2026 that concerns about inflation were “overhyped, candidly, by the media.” He has taken $48,000 from oil and gas company PACs since 2022 — $30,000 of it from Koch Industries — and voted for the tax bill that made the 2017 cuts permanent while Iowans’ bills went up.

She put herself through college working at Walmart and cleaning hotel rooms. She won a Republican-held seat in 2020, and has introduced bills in the Iowa Senate to ban lawmakers trading individual stocks. She has held a town hall in all 21 counties of this district; Nunn has not held one since taking office in 2023.
